Africa is the future

If you can talk you can sing. If you can walk you can dance. This is a Zimbabwean proverb I learned from Wyoma and many will probably agree with me when I say that music has the power to heal – among many other wonderful effects.

Dancing brings me immense joy. And probably the only thing that surpasses this creative outlet is making people dance. In its simplicity anybody can DJ just as long as you can count to four and don´t have a natural tendency to clap on ones and threes. It is a fine craft when done right. Deejaying is like a spiritual doctor performing surgery.

Wyoma tells us that it has recorded before the dawn of time that spiritual leaders and healers were first dancers. And I certainly aim at delivering uplifting, thought-provoking and even healing music for whomever has a keen ear and discerning taste.

It made me very happy to find this afrohouse track seven years ago that uses a vocal sample from Wyoma. This is a song that I still enjoy playing on my DJ gigs.

“If you can talk you can sing, if you can walk you can dance.”
